TIMARU GRAIN MARKET.
Mr W. Evans reports 'The market for grain continues duli, and with no prospect of immediate improvement. The gram stores in J’imaru are quite full, mostly on farmers’ account, many of whom are inclined to accept the rates ruling, but find middle men backward is buying except for orders. I quote prices to farmers as follows Milling wheat, 2s 3d to 2s 8d ; fowl do., Is fid to 2s. Short bright oats, Is fid to Is 7d; Danish and Tartars, Is 2d to Is 4d. Feed barley, Is fid to 2s ; malting do., 2s fid to 3s ; bags, fid each. Potatoes, 40s to 455, bags included. Bran, 70s ; sharps, 755; flour, £7 10s to £B, f.o.b.
