AUCTIONEER'S REPORT,
XIMARU. Messrs Jenas aud Bourne report for the past week ending Saturday ae follows : In spite of the influence that scarcity of feed is supposed to exert on the market for live stock, their sales show no diminution either in the number of entries made and sales effected or in the prices for first-class lines. There is, as> they confidently asserted that there would be some time ago, a h»rdening of values, and it may be as certainly sure that from the present time till after shearing fewer good sheep will be coming forward for sale, and eoraewhat higher prices will rule for them. Beel is probably at about its best figure, and for reasons patent to every one is not likely to recede in value yet awhile. Their sales privately have been 15 fat ste b rs at £7 12s 6d, and 8 do. at £6 17s 6<l. At the Makikihi monthly sale they sold 4 fat bullocks at £7. 4 heifers at £5 15s, one steer at £5. 10 store steers at £2 Bs, and pigs £2 each for baconers.
