TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—As Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of the newly-formed Terauka Benevolent bociety, I have the honor to request that you will be kind enough to open a subscription list in your columns in aid of the Society. Every £1 given will really be equivalent to £2, as the Government will subsidise £ for £ all amounts raised by the Society. The money thus brought into the district will be spent locally in giving aid to needy and distressed.—l am, etc., Thos. A. Hamilton, Hon. Sec. and Trcas. (pro tem .) Temuka Benevolent Society.
