ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, June 3. The Directors of the New Zealand Grain Agency Company recommend that the Company should go into liquidation. June 4. The Right Hon. Joseph Chamberlain, M.P., President of the Board of Trade, addressed a crowded meeting of hie constituents at Birmingham this evening. Referring to Egyptian affairs, Mr Chamberlain stated the obstruction on the part of the French Government to the policy of Great BrUnin in Egypt had delayed the evacuolion ofyjtb't't country by the British forces, and would perhaps finally render it a matter of impossibility. M. de Freycinet, French Minister for Foreign Affairs, is making enquiries regarding the alleged religious persecutions at the Loyalty Islands.

Tenders for thi New Zealand loan were opened to-day. Tenderers at £IOO 3s 6d will receive 32 per cent, of their application, above that in full. Eight hundred tenders were received, covering £6,800,000.

The Westport Harbor Board loan of £150,000, and the Greymouth Harbor Board loan of £IOO,OOO, have been placed in the market. Both loans are 4 per cent., with a minimum of 95. In the House of Commons, during the course of the evening, the Right Hop. Mr Childers, Chancellor of the Exchequer, cunounced that .considerable, modifications had been made in tin Budget since he nvule his Financial Statement, owing to the fact that nnly nine millions credit had alrpady been expended.
