WAR IN THE SOUDAN.

Souakim, May 10, Lord Wolseley has expressed great appreciation of the offer of the Australian contingent for service as a body of mounted scouts. London, May 10. In conclusion, the Marquis of Hartington stated that England would retain possession of Souakim until arrangements could be concluded for the occupation of that Port by a #yilised Power. May 12. The Egyptian garrison at Kassala is resisting the renewed attacks of the rebels.
