GERALDINE ROAD BOARD ELECTION.
The election of members to fill the vacant scats on the Geraldine Road Board took place yesterday, and a good deal of interest was manifested in it. When all the returns came in in the evening, the Returning Officer declared the result as follows: F. R. Flatman 150 John Kelland U 1 W. U. Slack ... ...126 C. G. Tripp 28 The throe first-named were declared duly elected. Mr Flatman in returning thanks for the honor done him said that though the district had not bee n divided into wards the ratepayers had cajried out the principle of electing a representative for each district. Mr John Kelland said though he lived a good distance away, he was there to thank them for the honor they had dona him. He would have come twice the distance to thank the ratepayers for their confidence in him, and their action would make him work more zealously in their interest in the future. On the motion of Mr Flatman, seconded by Mr Kelland a vote of thanks to the Returning Officer and bis assistants was carried by acclamation,
