SOUTH CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB RAGES. The Autum Meeting of the South Canterbury Jockey Club commenced on Thursday last; and was fairly successful. About 1400 people attended—not nearly the number that was expected, and that would doubtless have attended had the races been sufficiently and judiciously advertised. The racing on the whole was good, the fields being small. Two totalisators were on the ground and did a fair business, but the dividends declared were small.
