WAR IN THE SOUDAN.
Souxtiu, April 10. News received from Kassalt dated 2oth March states that Jhe Egyptian garrison to that time had. maintained iti position against the rebel forces. Sir Gerald Graham has issued a proclamation calling upon the rebel Arabs to submit to him, and furnish provision! and camels for the use of the British, otherwise they must be prepared to take the consequences of their resistance. April 12. The native Shieks in the neighborhood of this place in consequence of General Graham’s proclamation,. are rapidly tendering their submission. It is expected when the British advance is completed as far as Tambouik, nearly all the tribes will have owned aUegianee to the British authority. Cairo. April 11. News of the rising by the disaffected followers of the Mafadi has been confirmed, and it is believed his forces hare been completely destroyed in the fighting at El Obeid. Sydney, April 11. j Private telegrams to hand announce the arrival of the New South Wales contingent at Handoub, all well.
