AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. GEBALDINE. Messrs J. Mundeli and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 4th April, 1885 : At their monthly sale of stock in the Geraldine \ards on Wednesday, they noticed a very active demand existed for eheep of all classes, especially ewes for breeding purposes. The demand for pigs is also good, late values homer obtained with keen competition. The totals yarded for the day's sale were—6999 sheep, 109 cattle, and 125 pigs. Tbe major portion, of the entries changed owners at the following prices : —Crossbred sheep (fat), lis ; halfbred sheep (2-tooth), 8s 6d tc 8s 9d ; crossbred eives, 7s lOd to 8s; crossbred lambs, 4s to 7s 6d ; merino ewes, 8s 2d to 6s 6d ; cull merino ewes, Is 9d to 2s ; Leicester rams, £1 to £3 ; cull merino rams, 4s to £l. Shropshire Downs rams were withdrawn at £4 4s. Bacon pigs brought from £1 15s to £3 ; small stores, 12s to 13s; weaners, 9s to lis. Cattle —A very even line of forward stores were withdrawn at £4 17s 6d ; 2-year-old steers sold at £2 5s ; yearlings, £1 2* ; rows (.springing and in fu\l profit), £4 5s to £5 15f.

At Winchester Fair on Thursday there was a large entry of stock, but the sale was dull throughout, Of their entry they sold 60 fat sheep at 10s, 128 merino ewes at 3s, 345 merino eweß at Is, 6 2-year-old sjteers aud heifers at £1 168, and 2 cows at £3 15$. They held a sale of blacksmith's tools and plant at thsir rooms, Geraldine, on Saturday, at which there wns a large attendance of buyers, and all lots were keenly competed for.

TIMARU. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week ending Saturday as follows : Sheep—Large numbers of store sheep are at present being offered for sale at the different auction sales, and also a great quantity »re changing bands privately, but in the face of the large supplies of both fat and store sheep it seems to be wiser to accept rates now offering than to hold on in the expectation of values advancing. At their usual monthly sale held at Winchester last Thursday from 10,000 to 12,000 sheep were there yarded, and though a considerable number were passed in, a fair amount of business was done. Their entries consisted of about 800 merinos and 1500croB8breds. They sold 700 morino ewes from "2s' 4d to 2s sd, 150 crossbred lambs at from 6s 6d to 6s lOd. Privately they placed 650 half bred ewes, 320 crossbred 2tooths, and 450 three-quarter-bred ewes at satisfactory prices. Fat Sheep— They hare sold privately a nice line of about 300 three-quarter-bred ewes and wethers at a price almost equal to 2d per lb, which is about the present value of prime mutton.
