The Commission of Enquiry which has been sitting for some time to adjudicate upon the claims ol Gorman settlers to land in the Fiji Islands has concluded its labours, and the Commissioners are now preparing their reports. The members of the Commission are said to hi in accord on the question, only a slight -divergence occurring in their finding. The Times this morning announces that peace has been concluded between Franco and China. It is stated that although the terms of peace are partly based on the treaty concluded by Captain Faurnier at Tientsin in May last, no indemnity will be claimed by France, as was the casein that compact. Berlin, April 6. It is announced that the German corvette GriesaDU has been ordered to proceed to Sydney.

The Volunteer review took place yesterday, and was a great success. Brisbane, April 7. The men employed in the construction of the Western Kailway are dissatisfied with the present rite of wages, and struck work for an increase of pay. Adelaide, April 6. The match English Eleven v. a Fifteen of South Australia was resumed today. At the close of to-day's play tbe home team wore all out for 14-1. April 7. The English cricketers sailed to-day for Plymouth per Orient R.M.S. Potosi. The match against a loeal fifteen has c!ons<qnent)y been abandoned. Albany, Aj-ril 7. The P. and 0. K M.S.
