THE BALDWIN ENTERTAINMENT.
Tlifi entertainment given by Professor and Mrs Baldwin, in the Volunteor Hal), Temuka, last tight, was the cleverest ever witnessed there. He exposed the Davenport Brothers" Cabinet trior, also the " Katie King" mystery, and did many other tricks, besides giving a splendid exhibition of of thought-reading. The Committee consisted of Dr Hayes, and Messrs Haynes, Storey, Pinckney, and Twomey, and he discovered, blindfolded, every article any of them thought of. A pin bidden in the vest pocket of a gentleman in the back of the hall wa3 also discovered, and Mrs Baldwin was able to tell what Dr Hayes and Mr Storey wrote on papers which they had concealed in their pockets. Mr Lacey was very successful as a ventriloquist, and on the whole the entertainment was a capital one.
