ST. MARY'S SUNDAY SCHOOL GERALDINE.
The annual distribution of prizes to the children attending bt. Mary's Sunday School took place on Tuesday afternoon. At 4 o’clock the children assembled in the Church in their respective classes, and a number of the teachers and friends were also present. The proceedings were opened by singing the 337th hymn, Miss Fish presiding at the organ. The Rev. Jas. Preston then addressed a few words to the children, saying that the prizes wore presented to those who had obtained the highest number of marks. Those unsuccesful however, were not to be discouraged or cast down, but should strive more diligently through the coming year to obtain one the neit presentation," Assisted by Mrs and at Miss Preston, the incumbent then presented the prizes to each recipient. Those who did not receive prizes received a small present. After the presentation tfie Rev. Mr Preston ageings yea short address, advising and encouraging the children in the way they should endeavor to follow through life. The address was interspersed with illustrative and interesting anecdotes, which were listened attentively to by most of the children. The proceedings closad with another hyipn and prayop. The prizes are bbdks of a suitable class, and as they have been given for raerit the children should value them more highly. Th# following is the prize list Boys. First Glass Vf. Stopehouse ?
