MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held in the Road Board Office, Peel Forest, on Friday the 20th mst. Members present—The Hon. J, B. A. Acland (Chairman), Messrs R. Mackay, C. G. Tripp, G. J. Dennistouu, and A. Hawdon. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was read and considered ; From the Timaru Borough Council, in reference to closing the road between Reserve 2195 and section 27450, and asking if a road had been laid off through the latter section to give access to that part, of the Borough Reserve cut off from road frontage by the proposed change.— The Clerk was directed to get the road referred to surveyed and transferred to the Board. From Messrs J. and S. Wilson, requesting that the unused roads in Section 19944 be closed and transferred to them in exchange for the main road at present in J use. —The Clerk was directed to arrange with Mr Shaw for having the necessary survey made and plans prepared in order to carry out the proposed exchange, From the Mackenzie County Council, in reference to converting the footbridge at Fairlie Creek into a sheep bridge, stating that the Council would be prepared to share the cost and carry out the work should the Mount Peel Board desire it.—Resolved ; “ That the Board accept the proposal of the Mackenzie County Council.”
From Mr L. Harper, Attorney for Mr H. Hoare, eonsentidg to the alteration of roads through the Raincliff property. From Mr J, Anderson, in reference to a set of jaw sections for the stone crusher. From Mr 0. Q. Tripp, referring to the Board’s proposal to take land for a road on the Orari Downs.—Resolved : “That the old road rendered useless by the one to be opened be stopped and the land transferred to Mr Tripp in exchange for the land required for the new road." From Mr W, Badger, forwarding a copy of the New Zealand Statutes.—The Clerk was directed to acknowledge tha receipt of the same and forward cheque. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £BB 3s 8d were passed for payment. The Board then adjourned.
