I have seen Jacksons’s Patent Sheep Lift at work, and I nonsider it a valuable inven tion ; the sheep are got under the jets while wool is hot; the washing is greatly facilitated; the sheep are saved from injury by rough usuage, and the color and condition of the wool is improved. Any Person may appoint the Public Trustee executor and trustee under bis will or codicil. Any person, company, association or public body within or without the colony, may place any property belonging to them in charge of the Public Trustee upon trust for such uses as may bo defined in the deed creating the trust. Any building, land, or friendly society may, by its rules; provide that property belonging to it may be placed in the Public Trust Office, for such trusts and uses and with such powers as may be defined in or by the said rules. The advantages offered are;— Ist. State Guarantee against peculation, fraud or dishonesty. 2nd. All proposed investments are considered by a Board, consisting of the Hon. Colonial Treasurer, the Attorney-General, the Comptroller and Auditor-General, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Publio Trustee. Careful consideration of all securities offered it is therefore insured, 3rd. The Public Trustee in hi* corporate capacity never dies, never leaves the colony, and never becomes incapacitated, thus avoiding the many inconveniences mulling from frequent fresh appointments of, trustee*, necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirmly. 4th. Punctuality and promptitude in the remittance of periodical payments to beneficiaries under trust or will to any part of r,he colony, at which it may be desired that payment should be made, Sih. Tbe effective check which is called into operation before any money* can be paid from CbePublic Trustee's Account. 6th. Reasonable Charges. On estates such as are now being considered the Pub! c Trustee is authorised to charge 1J per cent, on all receipts, and U per cent, on all disbursements, and sj. par ernt. on all moneys invested. No charge is made for obtaining prob.de, nor for passing stamps and property tax returns, nor for ctfmspondence, howhver aluminous.
