WAR IN THE SOUDAN.

SoUAKIM, Feb. 3. A force consisting of eighty British Hussnrs and some Egyptian troops, which was despatched hence to Handoub to burn it down, effected their purpose, and were returning to foouakini when they were surrounded by a large body of rebels. Heavy fighting ensued, but? the Hussars and Egyptians succeeded in effecting tluir escape, with the loss of eight men killed,'five of whom were Hussarß, Cairo, Feb. 4. Colonel Fret-mantle, commanding the troops at bouakira, telegraphs to headquarters that the officer in comruaml of the forco of Hussars and Egyptians which made the recent sortie upon, and burnt Handoub, exceeded his instructions.
