The day was anything hut a pleasant one. Occasional showers fell, and a cold bitting wind prevailed all the afternoon. The visitors left Geraldine about 11 o’clock, arriving in Temuka at 12.15, when they were treated to a first-class luncheon by the Temuka team. The caterer was Mr P. Bertie. Messrs L. E. Haines and Fred. Fish, umpired and gave every satisfac ion, Mr Lodge captained the Geraldine team, and Mr W, H. Hargreaves the Temuka team, Hargreaves won the toss, and decided to bat. PI iy was commenced shortly after one o'clock. The batting shown was fair, but the bowling was very superior. In the batting Heap was the onlv one in the first innings for Temuka who caused much trouble, his score of 18 being well played for. Hargreaves also played well, although Ins score did not reach double figures. In the second innings Ogilvie, with 16, and Pinckney, with 8, showed very good cricket.—For Geraldine, W. Macdonald, with 10, was the highest scorer in the first innings, and in the second innings Bethune got 12, after some very good play. The bowling was excellent, as the bowling analysis will show. It was arranged that the stumps should be drawn at 6.30, and as this was done the game was deeded on the first innings, Temuka winning by three runs. Wo regret that we cannot give a detailed report, but pressure on our space prechi les us doing so. The following are the scores; —
