DUNEDIN MARKETS. At the Burnside j r ards on "Wednesday, December 3, head fat ca:tle were yarded. A small proportion only prime. For medium and inferior the biddings were languid, while for first quality competition was brisk. Mr D. Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company) sold a prime draft of bullocks from the Seadown Estate at from £9 to £l2 7s 6d—averaging £lO 16s, He quotes prime beef 22a 6d to 25s per lOOib. Fat Calves sold up to 30s.

Fat Sheep.—l69B penned. Beat crossbreds in wool brought from 19s to 20s ; do shorn, 16a to 18s 6d ; merinos in wool brought from 19s to 20s ; do shorn, 8s to 13s. Donald Stronach sold, on account of Messrs J. and S. "Wilson (Papakaio), 156 shorn merino wethers at 13s, and quotes mutton (shorn) 2id to 2-|d per lb. Fat Lambs.—49s penned and sold at from 8s to 11a fid.

Fat Pigs—Sixty penned. There was ready sale for all offered at 10s to 655. Store Pigs.—Sixty penned, and sold at from 15s to 60s. Store, Sattle,—Feed ha* been so backward that until recently there have been no transactions to note, although inquiries have been frequent. Grass is now, however, showing up in abundance, and wellbred stores promise to be in good demand. Hides.—Heavy in demand at from to 2d per lb. Tallow,—Quotations : Prime, 27s to 29s medium, 22s 6d to 26s ; inferior, 17s to 22s ; rough fat, 15s to 19s 6d. Wheat Absolutely nothing doing. Prices have a decided downward tendency and sobers have to concede from 2d to 3-1 per bushel on previous rates to effect s-des. Prime milling is worthy 3s 4d to 3s 6d ; medium, 2s 9d to 3s 3-1 ; fowl feed, Is 6d to 2s 2d.

Oats.—Tho tone of the market completely changed. Speculation, which was brisk for some time past, has subsided, and only prime parcels fetch anything near former rates. Quotations ; Best milling, 2s 7d ; medium, 2-t 2d to 2s 5d ; inferior, 2s. Barley,—No inquiries for malting ; feed is worth Is f)d to 2s 3d.

Potatoes.—Donald Reid and Co. report market for Derwenis over, but new kidneys in brisk request at £8 to £lO per ton.
