AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. TIMAKU. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week ending Saturday as follows :— •■ Horses.—32"draught and light horses were to-day submitted at their yards for sale, 14 of which found buyers. The demand was dull and prices low. Good draughts brought up to £26, medium and inferior £l4 to £lB, hacks £8 to £l2.

Sheep.—Store sheep -are now being booked for sale, but as yet little business has been done, the rates being scarcely fixed. They expect prices will be fully maintained for good sh«ep. They h rid their usual fortnightly sale at Washdyke yards last Tuesday, when a large entrv came forward. They penned over 2000 sheep, the bulk of which, merino wethers, were passed in not sold. Tliey placed 400 shorn crossbred hoggets at'''from 11a 6 i to 12s Id, and a few merino ewes at4s Fafc sheep—At last sale at'Washdyke >hey sold 200 crossbred wethers'at from 12* to 14s, and quote prime mutton at 2|d per lb.

' Cattle.—A fair demand existed for store cattle last Tuesday, and a good portion of the lots offered found buyers. They placed 60 head of all classes at, for heifers and cows, from £2 10s to £3 16s ; yearlings, 18s to 27a; and privat Jy during the week they sold 82 head mixed oattle at a satisfactory price. Fat cattle— The demand at last sale at Washdyke was dull, and they have no sales of imnoitance to report. Prime beef is worth about 18s per lOOibs. Wool, Skins and Hides.—Their usual fortnightly sale was held at their rooms last Wednesday, when they catalogued 9 bales of wool, over 1000 skins, and 22 hides, all of which found purchasers at the following rates : -f-bred wool, 7d to 8d ; locks and pieces, 4d ; butchers' merino skins, 3s 10,t to 4s 7d ; do cross'ireds, 4s 6.1 to 5s ; farmers' crossbrecls, 3s to 4s ; merinos, 2s 6d to 3s 8d ; hides, from 3d to 3£d per lb.

DUNEDIN MARKETS. At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday, best bnllocks brought £lO to £lll2- 6>i, others £6 10s to £8 10s ; cows, £4 lOi to £lO 2s 6d. Mr Donald Stronacli sold 20 prime heifers from the Seadowu Estate at from 4:8 12s 6<l to £lO. Mr L. Maclean sold for Mr M. Quiun (Temuka), 6 bullocks trom £9 5s to £lO ss. Fat calves sold at from 14a to 425.

Fat Sheep.—Best crossbred vethers in (he wool brought 19* to 21s 91 ; O'hors, 16s 9d to 18s 3d ; short do, lis 3 1 to 17--3d ; merinos in the wool, 9a to 15s 91, Fat Lambs. The market completely glutted, the range in prices being 3s 6d tol4s6d.

Pigs. —Suckers sold at up to 15s 6d ; porkers, 25s to 35s ; bacon pigs, 42s 6i to 100 s.

Store Cattle.—Well-grown and forwardconditioned cait'e are in fair demand at from £4 10s to £6 10s for bullocks ; cows, £3 10s to £5 10s.

Sheepskins. Butchers' green skins, crossbreds. brought from 3s 7d to 5s 9d ; do dry merinos, 3s 4d to os 5d ; dry crossbreds, Is 7d to 5s 4) ; station skins in bales, 3d to s|d per lb ; pelts, 6d to 15d ; lambskins, 8d to 14d. Hides.—No alteration to note.

Tallow.—Good to prime h worth 26a 6rt to 28s 6d ; medium, 23s to 25s ; inferior and mixed, 18s to 22s ; rough fat, 14s 6d to 19s per cwt. ■ .

Wheat.—There is really no demand, except for choice samples of Tuscan and velvet, and which at present are sen rue. Prime milling is worth 3s 5d to 3s 7d ; ordinary, 3s 2d to 3s 4d ; medium, 2s 9d to 3s ; fowl feed and frosted, Is 6d to 2s 3d per bushel. Oats—Demand scarcely so brisk, but all lots coming to hand can be placed at —for prime milling, 2s 8d to2s9d ; sound feed, 2s 7£d to 2s 8i ; ordinary, 2s 7d to 2s inieribr, 2s 4d)ta 2s 6d per bushel. Barley—No transactions worthy of note.

Grass Seeds—No demand of any consequence Quotations nominal at —for machine-dressed, 4s 6d tu4 9*l ; medium, 4s to 4s 6d : undressed, 2s 6d to 3s 3d per bushel. Sydney. Nov. 21. New Zealand wheVr, per bnshel, is worth 2s lid ; New Zealand oats, 3s Id ; ■uaize, 4s 8d ; SueMr Company's No. 1 pieces, per ton, £33. ENGLISH MARKETS. Lokdon. Nov. 20. At to-day's wool R<ile 9700 bales were offered, making a total of 77,000 catalogued since the opening ot the series. Crossbreds are a shade firmer, but inferior and faulty wools generally are rather lower than last sales. vGood competition was experienced to-day. The markets for colonial breadstuff's and tallo w remain unchanged.
