The contest for the Presidency between Blaine and General Cleveland is proving very close, and the result is considered very uncertain. Serious rioting occurred in Cincinnati over the election, and several persona were killed and wounded.

It is generally believed that Blaine will be elected to the Presidency. The result is still uncertain, and the election is being very keenly contested on both sides.

Ihe cricket match between the English team and 15 of Adelaide was coacluded to-day, and resulted in favor of the visitors, who won by three wickets.

The P. and 0. steamship Mirzapote with the inward Brindisi mails, dated London, October 3rd, arrived at King George’s Sound this morning.
