SPECIAL PRIZE AT THE TIMARU SHOW.
The following is a list of the Association’s special and of private prizes offered at the late Show, and the names of the respective winners:— The last year’s Oommittee’r prize of the value of 65 guineas for most points in breeding stock, sheep, cattle and horses —Mr John Reid.
The President’s cup or piize of 20 guineas for most points in draught horses, the lona fide property of farmers between the Waitaki and Rangitata for three months previous to the Show —Mr A. Perry. The Association’s prize of 10 guineas for most points in merino sheep, division A (housed and clothed) —Mr W. Lyttelton.
The Association’s prize of 10 guineas fo 1most points in merino sheep, division li (grass-fed)—New Zealand and Australian Land Company, Levels. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s cup, value 15 guineas, for most points in merino sheep, division C (strong combing)—Mr A, McMaster. The Association’s prize of 10 guineas for most points in merino sheep, division C (strong combing)—Mr A. McMaster, The Association’s prize of 10 guineas for most points in Lincoln Sheep—New Zeaand and Australian Land Company, Levels.
The Association’s prize of 10 guineas for most points in English Leicester Sheep— Mr P. C. Threlkeld.
The Association’s prize of 10 guineas for most points in border Leicester sheep —New Zealand and Australian Land Company, Levels, The Association’s prize of 5 guineas for the most points in Romney Marsh Sheep —Mr J. Reid. The Association’s prize of 5 guineas for the most points in Down Breeds—Messrs Dudley and Northey. The Association’s prize of 5 guineas for the best pen of ten fat wethers or maiden ewes fit for freezing trade—New- Zealand and Australian Land Company, Levels. The Association’s prize of 10 guineas for the most points in Shorthorn cattleMr J. Reid.
The Association’s prize of 10 guineas for the most points in other cattle—Mr W. Grant.
The Association’s prize of 10 guineas, for the best heavy-weight hunter up to 14 stone—Mr J. S. Rutherford.
The Association’s prize of 5 guineas for the best light-weight hunter up to list 71b —Mr A. Macdonald. The Association’s prize of 5 guineas for most points in pigs—Mr Jas. Rowe. The Association's prize of 25 guineas for most points in Agricultural Implements—Messrs Reid and Gray. The'Association’s prize of 10 guineas for most points in dairy produce —Mrs W. Balfour.
Mr J. Ballantyne’a prize of 5 guineas for the best sample of cheese made in South Canterbury, suitable for export — Temuka Cheese and Butter Factory. Mr J. Ballantyne’s prize of 5 guineas for the best sample of butter made in South Canterbury, suitable for export— Mrs P. Dalton.
The Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Association’s prize of 10 guineas for most points in Agricultural Produce—Mr R. Kelland.
