Despatches from Zaira, in Tripoli, of September 16th, announce a serious revolt against the Turkish Governor. It seems he had fallen tu love with a young Arab girl, who was also beloved by a young Arab sheikh. The Governor in a fit of jealous rage had the skeikh flogged nearly to death, and afterwards impaled him with his own hand. His brother, in revenge, fired two shots at the Governor, but missed him. The wildest excitement ensued, the populace demanding the death of the Governor, The lurkish troops charged the mob, which numbered over 1500 men, without effecting anything, and reinforcements had to be sent for.
