TEMUKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual modthly meeting of the above Committee was held last evening. Present Messrs Blyth (in the 'chair), Bolton, Storey, O’Hslloran and Miles. L etters ware read from the Board of Education, advising that amount of salaries had been placed to the credit of the Committee ; that the applications fop repairs were acceded to j that the account for ret casting the bell would not bo acknowledged ; and asking for return of school property.

Working average s Boys,' 147; i girls, 105; total, 250. Highest at- ’ tendance ; Boys, 160 ; girls, .124; total, 284. Also enclosing cheque for £l2 Ifs lOd, being High School fees £9 ss, and stationery sales £3 .l?e IQd, He also enclosed a schedule .of school requisites, which the Secretary, was _ ort dared to get from the B® ar d of Education. The circqlsr in po school property was handed to Messrs Gray aud Blyth to report upon. The Secretary was, ordered to write to one parent who had not yet paid the High School fees. On the motion of Mr Bolton, seconded by Mr Miles, it was reselved —“ That the Board be written to asking when they purpose having the work mentioned in their letter of the 4th instant dona,**

J'. JMr O’Halloran reported that he visited the several times and found the ventilation to be[.very urgently needed. ' The. school was in a satisfactory state. ' Secretary was requested to ask the teachers if they would be good enough to arrange for a coiicert to be held oo Friday evening, the 7th November, in the school building, in aid of the prize fiiffda.
