AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. GERALDINE. .0 Messrs J. Mnndell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 4th Oct., 1884 ',*( . * At the monthly sale of stock, in the Geraldine Yards on Wednesday last, there was an average entry of stock came forward for the day’s,pale, consisting principally of cattle, for ri which the competition was the best we have experienced for this class. of stock for a considerable time. The entry.!of sheep was smaller than we have had at previous sales. This no doubt is attributable to the shearing season being so close at hand. The totals yarded for the day were 105 sheep, 20 pigs, and 104 cattle. The following prices were realised For a line of cull crossbred hoggets, 9s lid ; old merino ewes, with a small percentage of lambs, 8s 6d. Pigs, weaners, 15s ; breeding sows, £2 5s to £2 13s 6d. Cows, springing, ±4 16s to £6 ; 3-year->>ld steers in low condition, £3 5s to £3 7« 6d ; 2-year-old steers and heifers, £2 15s to £3 3s 6d ; yearlings, £1 17s 6d ; calves, 19s to £1 ss. A clearance of almost every line .yas effected at the above quotations. At our rooms, Geraldine, on Saturday, we sold, on account of a client, a large quantity ot drapery, jewellery, etc., for which good value was realised. Potatoes, 7s p*r sack ; oats, 2s 6'l per bushel ; cheese, 5 • oer ib ; bacon, 8d ; hams, 9d ; chick wheat, 7s per sack ; > carrots, 4s per sack. Other produce at late quotations. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS.
