GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
A meeting of the Board was held on ) Wednesday evening last in the Literary Institute. Present —Messrs R. H. Pearpoint (Chairman), Maslin, DuDlop, Taylor, Mundell and Hurley. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. OUTWARDS CORRESPONDENCE. To the arbitrator appointed by the Governor asking when he would hold his sitting and make the award between the Geraldine Road Board and the Town Board. To the Ooloaial Secretary forwarding copy of By-law Nos. 1 and 2. The Clerk stated that no reply had been received. To the Chairman, Geraldine County Council, in reference to an_ arrangement entered into re dog registration. INWARDS CORRESPONDENCE. From J. OUivier Esq., in reply to letter forwarded, stating he would hold an enquiry on Friday, 17th October, in the Road Board Office. From the Geraldine County Council giving an assurance that the Council will not interfere with the registration of dogs within the Town Board District. From Mr Joseph Webb, asking to hare a crossing put in opposite his main I entrance in Brown's township. Resolved "That the same be granted." From Mr Geo. Ward, dated Oct, 1, asking a fortnight's extension of time to complete his No. 1 contract. Resolved—- •' That the same be granted, but the Clerk to remind him that no extension will be granted for No. 3 Contract, Waihi terrace road." From the Geraldine Road Board, dated 27th Sept., stating that they would be represented by counsel at the arbitration between the two Boards.—The contents were noted, and instruction given to the Finance Committee and the Clerk concerning the matter. From Mr Gore, asking to have a crossing over footpath made leading to the back ot his premises.—The same was granted, TENDERS. The following tenders were opened and considered : No. 4 contract.—Re- forming footpath from Institute to Cemetery corner : Geo. Ward, £22 lis; James Beckley, £l6 (accepted). No. 5. Gravelling Jollie and other j streets. The tenders being too high the Overseer was instructed to make arrauge- | ments with Mr B. Trumper, if possible, '* as the work is urgent." overseer's report. The Overseer's report was read aud considered, and the following* resolutions
passed thereon : - (1) That Mr Ward's attention be dm«n to the fact that the Board will not grunt any extension of time for No. 3 contract ; (2) The Clerk to write to the Road Board re deeds of roads in Knllaugher's Township. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £3O 93 were passed for payment, and the Board then adjourned until Wednesday, the 15th October, at 7.30 p.m.
