IN MEMORIAM.
Sad are our hearts to-day, Mourn we the lifeless clay — Spirit at rest. Fond wife and child behind Soon hope with him to find Glories immortal. Kind .Realms of the blest.
Realms where no sorrow flows, Mansions where beauty glows Spotless and white. Thus passed a brother good O’er to the Brotherhood — Where millions more have stood In garments bright.
Brief tho’ his portion here Yet in that higher sphere— Fair Heaven’s strand— Endless shall be the sound Harps will with praise resound. Oh, may we all be found On His right hand !
And shall we meet him there, Where <ronc is toil and care— Peace, joyful peace Join those supremely blest? Gone to his Heavenly rest. Fallen on Jesus’ breast ; Oh, blest release !
So, while our tears willjfall, May we, too —when the call (Solemn as night) Summons us to the shore Where earthly partings o’er— Be happy evermore. Won, won the fight ! Cedric of Rother wood, Temuka, 30th Sept., 1884.
