SYDNEi MARKETS.

The Town and Country Journal under date Sept. 20tb, 1881, reports on the local produce market as follows : Hour—There is no alteration to note this week. A large quantity of cheap flour is at present offering, without finding purchasers. Bakers, owing to the approaching warm weather, do not care for inferior grades, and are only purchasing sparingly of the best brands, as there is at present no appearance of an upward tendency in prices during the present year.' New Sou'h Wales flour, £9 to £lO 10s, Adelaide £8 10a to £lolos, Victorian £8 to £lO, Tasmanian £7 to £B, New Zealand £6 10s to £8 per ton ; bran and pollard Is to Is Id. Wheat—This market is without change in ralue or prospects from last week, and continues as for some months past, without any speculative feeling whatever. Millers will only buy for immediate requirements no doubt owing to the state of the European markets, which, as at present quoted, are lower than known for a very long period, and practically debars our neighbours in Adelaide and Victoria from sending shipments forward, except nt a loss upon rates now quoted in their respective markets. Prices may be quoted as follows : —New South Wales wheat, 4s to 4s 3d ; Adelaide, 4s 2d to 4s 3d; Victorian, 4s to 4s 2d ; Tasmanian, 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; and New Zealand, 2s to 3s 6d per bushel. Feed oats, 2s 9J to 3s ; bran Is ; pollard Is Id per bushel; New Zealand po tardea, £5. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Sept. 28. The sales of Australian wheat cargoes are averaging 33s 9d.
