MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held in the Ro<id Board Office, Peel Forest, on Friday, 19fch September. Members present—Messrs Q. J. Dennistoun, R, Mackay, and A. Hawdon. Mr Denuistoun was voted to the chair. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. TENDERS. The following tenders for Contract No. 25, painting Opuha Bridge, were opened: - John Cooper, £47 ; Thomas Blair, £47; Alex. Blackwood, £45 (accepted). Resolved —"That tenders be called for stacking 2500 yards of boulders along the main road, where required, ready for crushing." CORRESPONDENCE. The following correspondence was read and considered : irom the Chief Surveyor, asking what arrangements have been made with the owner of Section 9864 "with reference to taking tho land for the read at present in use through that section, »nd asking for a plan of the same if it has been surveyed, Resolved road he forwarded to the Chief Surveyor with the information asked for." From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, in reply to the Board's application for having reserve 2489 vested in the Board, and stating that he had recommended the Government to comply with the request. From the Chairman of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, forwarding a statement of receipts and expenditure for the year ending 30th June last. From the Secretary to the South Canterbury Board of Education, requesting to be furnished with a lithographed copy of the map of the district.—The Clerk stated that he had replied that the Board has no copies of the map.

From Mr W. Badger, requesting information to assist him in compiling a proposed publication to be entitled " The Local Government Guide."—The Clerk was directed to supply the information atiked for.

ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £3Ol 17b 5d were passed for payment. The Board then adjourned.
