GERALDINE CRICKET CLUB.

On Saturday evening last the nnnual general meeting of the members of the Geraldine Cricket vJlub was hold in the Geraldine Hotel, there being a good attendance. Dr Fish was voted to the chair. The minutes of the previous annual meeting were read by the Secretary, as also the balance-sheet, which were both adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with as follows : —Captain : Messrs Pearpoint and W. Moore were nominated, resulting in Mr Moore beiDg elected. Deputy-Captain: Mr ,W. H. Lodge. Secretary and Treasurer: Mr J. Cunningham, on the understanding that atter November next Mr Hughes will hold the office. Prior to the election of Committee it was decided that there should be only one Committee instead of Match Committee, Ground Committee, etc., as had previously been in existence. Committee : The Captain, Deputy-Captain, and Messrs Ward, Pearpoint, F, Fish and the Secretary ex officio; three to form a quorum. Mr Moore handed in a letter he had received from Messrs R. Wilkin and Co., Christchurcb, in reference to the price of Devonshire evergreen grass. It was resolved —"That it be a recommendation from this meeting to the

Commiftre that one acre of the cricket ground be sown with this grass."

Accounts wore laid before the meeting by the Secretary, to the, amount of £4O. The balance-sheet showed that there was only a sum of £6 0s 7d in the Bank to credit of the Committee, The receipt of members' subscriptions was then proceeded with. On the motion of Mr Hughes, seconded by Mr Cutten, a vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers. Proposed by Mr B. Macdonald, seconded by Mr Moore and carried--" That no one who has not paid his subscription to the Club be nllowed to play on the ciicket ground. Any member of Committee present during such play is authorised to prevent such a one playing." The meeting then terminated.
