GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

A special meeting of the Board was held m the Literary Institute on Wednesday evening last. Members present— Messrs Dunlop, Maslin, Taylor, Mundell, Huffey and Farrell. In the absence of the Chairman, Mr Maslin was voted to the chair. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were road and confirmed. OUTWARDS CORRESPONDENCE. The Clerk also stated that he had written to Mr Rolleston, M.H.R., acknowledging receipt of his letter containing his opinion on certain matters, and had conveyed the thanks of the Board to him. Ward, £7 5s (accepted), No. S.— Lowering footpaths in Peel Street and Waihi terrace road.—Tenders being too high it was decided to advertise again. Proposed by Mr Farrell, seconded by Mr Taylor and carried—“ That in future all cheques be marked, or deposits made in cash, and that such be attached to each tender. The deposit to be 5 of amount of tender ; any tender under £2O to be accompanied by a deposit of £l.” ApCQUNTS, Accounts to the amount of £2B 12s were passed for payment. the by-laws. The Board then went into committee to consider the proposed by-laws as drafted by the By-laws Committee. the valuation roll. It was decided that the consideration of the valuation roH as prepared by the Clerk should remain over till next meeting of the Board. Printed forms to be sent to owners of property to the effect tha( their names appear on the rpll for such an amount each. ! The meeting then terminated.
