GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. In the House on Friday, a number of Bills were introduced and- were read a first time, among them being one to Repeal the Property Tax Assessment Act, and substitute a Land Tax, by Sir* George Grey. At 7.30 p.m., on the House resuming, Mr Stout moved—" That the' House has no confidence in the present Muiistry.” Mr Stout, Sir Julius Yogel and others spoke against the Ministry, pressing for an immediate division, whilst the Hons. Major Atkinson, Wakefield and' others upheld the Ministry and asked for time in which to unfold a policy.
