AUSTRALIAN MARKETS.

Melbourne, August 12,

The Melbourne Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, reports on the local markets as follows; Wheat, 3s 10J to 3a lid, market dull and drooping ; malting barley, 3s 9d to 4s 4d, prices ihow a slightly improved tendency ; New Zealand oats, feeding sorts, 2s lid to 3s id, with a tendency to harden. There is an artive demand for milling sorts, and prices are firm at 3s to 3s 3d ; New Zealand oats, under bond, 2s 3d to 2* fid.

SYDNEi MARKETS. The Town and Country Journal, under date August 2nd, 1884, reports on the local produce market as follows: Flour—The flour market has become easier in values, especially for inferior grades of country brands, Prices may he quoted as follow* ; —New South Wales, L 8 15* to LlO 15* ; Adelaide, L 8 15a to LlO Iss ; Victorian, L 8 lOs to LlO 17s ; Tasmanian, L 8 to L 9 ; New Zealand. L 7 to L 8 10s per ton ; bran and pollard, Is 2*l to Is 3d per ton.

Wheat—There is no change in this market since last report. An easier feeling still prevails, and a reduction on late rates has been accepted during the week, although holders yet ask 4s 51 for prime samples of N«tw South Wales and Adelaide wheats. We hear that 4s 3d has been accepted for a parcel of fair quality. Quotations are a* follows ;—New South Wales wheat 4s to 4s 5d ; Adelaide, 4s to 4s 5d ; Vic torian, 4a to 4s 3d ; Tasmanian, 3s fid to 4s ; New Zealand, 3s to 3s fid per bushel.
