AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS.

GERALDIira. Messrs J. Mundell and 00, report sales for the week ending Saturday, 9th August, 1884 : At the Geraldine monthly sale of stock on Wednesday, the entry was small, but, for the stock submitted to auction, the competition was all that could be desired, and vendors were extremely satisfied at the result of the sale, especially in store cattle and pigs. The entries for the day’s sale were 394 sheep, 33 pigs, and 17 head cattle. For the lots sold the following prices were realised : —Crossbred sheep, in forward condition, 14s fid | young store pigs, 12s to 26s ; cows, springing, £8 10s to £4 7s fid ; 2-year-old steers and heifers, £2 7s fid to £3 ; yearlings, £1 7s fid. We sold Mr George Barber’s property, at Woodbury, at a price to be withheld. At Winchester Fair on Thursday, the entry of stock was small, and of the number yarded hut few lots changed owners. We sold 40 merino ewes at fis Id ; 6 pigs at 18s fid, and 2 two-year-old steers at £3 7s fid. On Monday we held a clearing pale of household' furniture and effects, on account of Mr G. Bannister. There was a good attendance, and every lot found a purchaser at a satisfactory rate. At our salerooms, Geraldine, otii Saturday, there was an average attendance of buyers. The following prices were realized : Potatoes, per sack, 4s ; chick wheat, per sack, 6s fid ; cheese, per lb, 4d. Other produce at late quotations.
