LOVE, JEALOUSY, AND MURDER.

Tiie Now York Times’ New Orleans special says Eleven months ago the social sensation of the city was the brilliant marriage at the cathedral, of the beautiful daughter of Chief Justice Bermodez, of the Supreme Court of Louisiana, to Henry Fargas, Lieutenant of Artillery in the Army of France. The groom was young and handsome, and the bride of noble ancestry, the acknowledged queen of our creole belles, whilst the acquaintance and courtship wore full of the poetry of romance. After the wedding the happy couple left for Chicago and New York, and then for Europe. Now, the sad sequel comes in the latest news from Paris, which is whispered with dismay from lip to lip. The story is that whilst the lieutenant was attending to his duties at a distant point, (he colonel in his regiment at Paris lay seige to the heart of the young wife, and when the lieutenant returned he found a state of affairs existing that, to his mind, justified him in taking the life of his commanding officer. He cabled a message to the parents of his wife to come and get their daughter, and then fled from the country to avoid the penalty of His crime. Mrs Bermudez has already left for Europe to bring home her unhappy child.
