TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.
I A meeting of the above was held last evening. Present—Messrs K. F. Gray (Chairman), Blyth, Quinn, Mason, and Brown. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Tenders for works and for leasing reserves were opened as follows : "No. 1 Re-crowning and shirking Wood Street and Vine Street: T. Cleary, £35 ; F. Mulloy, £34 8s Id ; M. Dunn,, £27 9s ; T. Small, £23 16s 6d (accepted). No. 2—Forming footpath and shingling Cass Street: F. Mulloy, £3llos 6d ; M. Dunn, £24 5s Id ; T. Small, £23 f s 4d (accepted) ; R. Flanagan (informal). No. 3—Lighting lamps, at per lamp : H. Hodgson, £6 ; D. Roddick, £5 19s ; J. Davis, £5 17s 6d ; J. H. Jackson, £5 10s ; R. Flanagan, £5 7s 6d; J. ■W. Boulter, £5 (accepted), No. 4—Leasing sections 210, m, tit, Vine street: E. Brown, £5 (accepted). No. s—Leasing sections 64, 65, 66, Vine Street: J. Marshall, £2 ; P. Coira, £3 (accepted). No. 6—Leasing sections 67, 68, Mam South Road : W. Weir, £2 ; J. Roddick, £2 10a 6d (accepted). No. 7—Leasing sections 115, 116, 129 and 130, Main South Road arid Allnut Street: R Darrock and J. Radford, £2; The tenders being equal, a ballot was taken, and the reserves fell to Mr Rad-. No. 8- Leasing sections 179,180, 181, 190,19 J, 192, Holland Street and Temuka Teiraca : J. Davis, £2,(accepted). ■ No. 9.—Leasing part reserve 168, Mam. South Road : P. Coira, £10; M. Quinn,; £ll (accepted). Accounts to the amount of £43 6s were passed for payment. ■ ; Mr Quinn proposed, and Mr Mason seconded—" That a rate of a £d in the £ be struck, the same to be payable on the 25th August next.". ■ The Board then adjourned for a fortnight. '
