In the Supreme Court, Auckland, on Monday, a dissolution of mairiaae was granted between Marian and William John Offer.
An action was recently brought in the District Court. Auckland, by Robert Barlow, the capturer of Wini.ta, to recover from the Onehunga Building Society Trustees £l2O of his reward, which he had entrusted to his mother, and which she had deposited with the Societyprior to her death. Judge Smith ordered a refund of the mon-y by the Trustees, and also the payment of costs by them. At the inquest on the bony of Altred Hawley, found dead m the Wellingto harbor, the verdict was—“ That there was no evidence to show how became into the water.” An inauest was held on Saturday on the body of an infant discovered under suspicious circumstances a day or two ago. At 'he Supreme Court, Dunedin, on Monday, Stewart McCoiube, for sheep stealing, was again tried, and this time he jury returned a verdict of guilty and lie was sentenced to two 3 ears’ imprisonment.
Henry James Smith, at the Police Court, Dunedin, was charged with assaulting a man named who had remonstrated with him » li'e he was Jbeatinsr his wife. fie was fined £5 or a nnm h’a imprisonment, 30s of the fine to be given to Ward.
