At Auckland a man named Eei 1, of Claudlands, has sustained rather serious injuries through the bursting of a gun whilst out shooting.

Mr 0. Bunny, solicitor, was on Wednesday, at Nelson, charged with receiving £7O from Mr Chapman for the purchase of certain land from Mr Pearce, of Wellington, and converting the same to his own use and benefit. He was ultimately committed to stand his trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court, bail being allowed, the accused in £2OO and two sureties of £IOO each. The bail was forthcoming. An altercation took p’ace in Queen street, Auckland, on Wednesday, between Mr Dargavil e and Mr Swanson, both of whom are standing for the City West, when Mr Swanson, exclaiming, “ Do you mean to call me a liar,” struck Mr Dargaville with a stick, causing a slight abrasion on the skin of his face, from which blood appeared. Mr Dargaville immediately got into a cab and drove to the Club.

A man named John Buckley and his mate went out shooting on the Seadown Lag' on on Wednesday. They took different sides, and by some mishap both fired at the same bird, the result being that some shot from bis male’s gun lodged in Buckley’s eye, damaging it very severely. He was taken to Timaru and attended to.

A boy named Cunningham had his leg broken at football on Wednesday at Auckland.

In the Supreme Court, Auckland, William Cogan, for attempted suicide, was imprisoned till the rising of the Court, Elizabeth Don, for bigamy, was ordered to enter into recognizances of £IOO to come up for judgment when called upon. The Judge strongly condemned the man’s conduct. While a lad named Eichard Brooker was engaged in bush falling at Porirua (Wellington), on Monday, a tree fell on him, crushing his leg, which necessitated annotation.
