CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS,
At the Aldington Yards oa Wednesday then was the average entries of stock. Buyers attended only in moderate numbers and business throughout was middling. The eutry of sheep included soma drafts of very good quality, competition for which was fairly keen. The following are the sales ;—Crossbred wethers, from 14s 91 to 19s 8d ; do ewes, 12s 6d to 16-' ; merino wethers, a good draft went to 12s 3d ; medium sorts, 8s to 10s, being at the raie of 2d to 2| l per lb. Jr store sheep but little was offering »nd done. A fall supply of nigs met with a slightly easier demand. Bacan pigs, from 46s to 105-* ; porkers, to 87s, being at the r; te of to per ib. A fairly numerous entry ot (at cattle. The demand very dull, and sales made with difficulty. Steers sold from £5 2s 6d to £7 ; heifers, from £4 15s to £6, being from 16s to 18s 6d per lOOibs. But little was offering in the store cattle market.
