The letter-box will be cleared for despatch of> correspondence from the Temuka Post Office to the undermentioned places, as follows:
For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Continent of Earope, Africa, America, and the Sandwich Islands, on Saturday, the 21st June, at 3 p.m. Money orders, registered letters and newspapers at 11.40 a.m. Late fee letters at the Railway Travelling Postoffice Mail Van (Northern Express Train) till departure of train. For Christchurch, Ashburton, Geraldine, Orari, Rangitata, and Winchester, daily, at 7.30 a.m.
For Timaru direct, daily, at 9 a.m. For southern offices, per express, daily, at 11.50 a.m.
For northern offices, per express, daily, at 3.20 p.m. For Christchurch, daily, at 5 p.m. For Timaru direct, daily, at 7 p.m. For Waitohi Flat, Wednesdays and Saturdays, at 3 p.m. For Hilton, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, at 4 p.m.
Mails arrive at the Temuka office, From Timaru direct, daily, at 8.15 a.m 4.50 and 5.20 p.m.
From Christchurch, Ashburton, Rangitata Orari, Geraldine and Winchester, daily, at 9.30 a.m.
From northern offices, per express, daily, at 12.10 p.m. Prom southern offices, per express, daily, at 4.50 p.m.

From Waitohi Flat, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, at 2.30 p.m. From Hilton, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, at 8.30 a.ra.
N.B.—Letters containing anything of value should be handed to the Postmaster to be registered. Letters containing coin, if posted unregistered, will be compulsorily registered, and charged double registration fee. B .D. O’Halloran. Postmaster.
‘ Riding the Doneiit.' The Otago Education Board have resolved to suspend for two months, the schoolmaster at Dnnlaek, who administered punishment to a scholar by the mode known as ‘ riding the donkey.’ The Board’s Inspector, who made enquiries into the matter and handed to the Board the statement of each person he examined, stated that in his opinion no offence against school discipline or morality would justify a teacher in administering such cruel and heartless punishment, and added that - Mr Warburtoa had refused to see the unsuitability of the chastisement.
