AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. TIMAKU. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week ending- Saturday as follows :

Horses.—The wet morning prevented their usual entry of horses being made at their yards to day, only about 20 draughts and light harness horses coming forward. About half that number were sold at from £lB to £25 for good draughts, and from £8 to €l4 for inferior harness horses and ordinary hacks. Sheep They have a good many enquiries for crossbred ewes for breeding purposes, also for store crossbred wethers, but there are few of either of those classes of sheep at present in the market, the prices offered not bting such as to tempt owners to sell. Merino sheep are not much enquired for. At Makikihi last Monday they placed a small line of 120 meiino ewes at 7s Id. They have no oth<-r auction sales to report. Fat sheep—Prices are much the fame as last week, about 2d per lb being their values, units* extra good, when 2£d per lb may be quoted. Cattle— There is uo alteration in prices or in the demnnd for store cattle since the last report, and they are still difficult to sell, unless at low figures. They have * held no auction sales during the week. Fat cattle—Prices may be quoted at a slight increase from last week, fully 17s 6d per 1001 b having been obtained for a smaM line of good -steers ; but iinlass the quality is prime, a shade under that quotation has to be taken if owners are anxious to sell.
