RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Temuka—Monday, Junk 16, 1884,

[Before D. In wood and F. H. Barker Esq.'s, J.P.'a.] NEGLECTING TO VACCINATE.

John Ardle was charged, on the information of B. D. O'Halloran, Registrar, \ritb having neglected to vaccinate his child.

Tom Davis was similarly charged. Both cases were dismissed, the certificate having been sent sinca the summons was issued, and it appearing that the people thought the doctor ought to have sent in the certificate.

James Streeter, who wai similarly charged, was fined si, an acsount of not having attended the Court. William Webster was similarly charged, and the case was dismissed. E. Griffiths was charged with the same offence.

In reply he said he did not agree with vaccination and asked whether there was any way out of it. He was informed that there was not, and agreed to vaccinate.

The case was adjourned until the certificate was produced. William Cook, who was similarly charged, neither appeared nor sent in a certificate, and was fined 10s. CIVIL CASES. J. W. Miles v. W. Eagleston*—Claim 7s 6d. Judgment by default for the amount claimed aud costs. J, W. Miles v. F. Meade—Claim £2 14s Sd. As the items were not given in the bill of particulars a fresh summons was ordered to be issued. Trustee in R. Kno dries' Estata v. Sam Kurribi (native)—Claim *1 10» sd.

Richard Knowles gave evidence to the effect that he had supplied good* te the value of amount claimed. The defendant said the hill was all right, but the amount was wrong. He owed 25s or 265. Judgment for amount claimed and costs. The Same v. O. Carr—Claim 3i lOd. Mrs Carr swore she had paid everything up except for some meat that wat bad. It. Knowles said ahe had never been charged with the bad beef. The case was nonsuited, the eoilf, 10s, to be paid by the defendant. The Same v, F\ Meade—Claim 9s 4d. Judgment by default for the amount claimed and costs. The Same v. H. Williams—Claim £2 7s lOd. A set-off was put in for £2 9s Bd. After the accounts were examined, judgment was given for 3s 5d and costs. The Court then rose.
