The nomination for the East Coast election has been fixed for the 9th June, and the poll is to be taken on the ISth. Mr DeLatour has intimated that be has no intention of seeking ra-eloction for Mount Ida.
The Hinemoa returned to Manakau yesterday afternoon from Wellington, and it is expected she will take Sir Maurice O’Rorke to Wellington. Ibe writ for the Ashburton seat will not be issued till the meeting of Parliament,
Sir Julius Vogel has consented to stand w for the Ashburton seat.
