RAILWAY MANAGEMENT.
TO THE EDITOB. Ma certi, Mr Editor, the New Zealand Government lia'e a fine way in conducting their passenger traffic. It wis nay misfortune to travel oot by the express nn Saturday last, an' a mai? disgracefu' state o' overcrowdiug I ne'er yet did see an' hope ne'er to see the like o't again. I wis ane o' eight that stood on the platform hangin' on, like grim death for fear wi should fa' off. I mun say should the express gang oot sae overcrowded afteu, there wull ba some fatal accident, an' than it wull be, Wha's tae blame.? The puir dee'il that has tae g«ng on the platform o' the Government railway carriages, notwithstanding' their kind caution taa travellers that they winna be responsible for ony accident that may happen tae travellers standing on the platform! I'm jist thinkin' should there be an acccident through their culpable negligence in no' providing sufficient accomodation for travellers they'll fin' oot tae their cost wha's tae pay the piper. I mun advise them for their ain benefit, an' for the benefit o' the public, tae just provide twa or three extra carriages on a thrang day like last Saturday, sn' it'll dae awa' wi' growling on overcrowding,—Yours, etc., Kaka, April
