GERALDINE PUBLIC SCHOOL.

On Wednesday evening last the usual monthly meeting of the Ger«ldine School Committee was held in the schoolroom. Members Present Messrs Pearpoint (Chairman), Dunlop, Cunningham, Farrell and G. Ward. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed..' i CORRESPONDENCE. From the Board of Education, asking for information as to how many times last year's Committee had met ; also asking for certain explanations re the" old accounts. The Chairman stated that these matters had been attended to by the last year's Committee. From the same, acknowledging receipt of letter from the Chairman, forwarding' Miss Freeman's resignation as pupil teacher, which the Board had accepted, and on the recommendation of the Committee had appointed Master Smith, as pupil teacher in the school. HEAD MASTER'S REPORT. The Head Master reporied the average attendance for the past month to be 168. The pupil teachers recently appointed were doing satisfactory work. He asked to be supplied with Gladman's and Walter's works in object lessons, as they were much, needed. Proposed by Mr Dunlop, seconded by Mr Cunningham and That the works asked for by the Head Master be obtained.' VISITING COMMITTEE'S REPORT. Messrs Farrell and A. Sherratt, visitors for the pant month reported favourably on the working of the school. ACCOUNTS. Accounts presented were passed fo r payment. VISITING COMMITTEE. The Chairman and Mr G. Ward were appointed a Visitiug Com>nittee for the month. The meeting then terminated.
