CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS.
Heavy consignments of both fat and store sheep were to hand at the Addington Yards on Wednesday, and moderate entries of cattle. Attendance of buyers hardly an average one. The demand for fat sheep noton a par with the supply, and values show a slight decline. Crossbreds sold at from 14s to 18s Gd; merino wethers at 10a, and up to 13s 6d, being from 2jd to 2|i per lb, according to age and quality. Largo lines of store sheep on offer ; demand only middling, values also a trifle easier. Lines of lambs sold at from Cs to 9s Id ; crossbred ewes, 9s Gd to 13s ; a line of two-tooth first cross ewes, at 13s 7d and 14s lid ; a line of four-tooth first cross wethers at 14s3d; merino ewes from 4s 3d to 7s 9d ; and lines of 4,6, and 8-tooth wethers at 14s Gd ; and various lines turned out unsold. The small entry of fat cattle met with a dull sale, at late rates. The store cattle market showed no improvement, several good lines of well grown bullocks failing to meet with purchasers.
