TEMUKA HOTELKEEPERS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —What kind of publicans hare you got in Temuka ? Coming dowfl from the country to-night I called at one of the hotels and went into the bar, but there was no one there to servo me. On coming out again 1 saw the landlord talking to another man, and refusing this man a drink without the money. I asked the landlord if he would serve me with a glass of spirits, as [ was wet and cold. He asked me if I was in a hurry, I told him I was, and he told me I could just wait until he had done talking to the other man, "and if you don't like that, " he said, "you know what you can do." I thanked him and went to another hotel, where I got civility and refreshments.— Yours, etc., A Traveller. March 25th, 1884. [Oar correspondent has his remedy in his own hands. He should patronise the hotel where he is best served.—Thk Editor,]
