This was merely a trial of streng ■, there being little or no science displayed. M. Duggan was the winner over his opponent and O’Neill the other winner. These two then met and the final trial resulted in a victory for M. Duggan. The Geraldine Brass Band was on the ground during the afternoon and greatly enlivened the proceedings. Everything passed off highly satisfactory to all parties concerned. The Ball. In the evening a ball was held in the Oddfellows’ hall, which was largely patronised. The music was supplied by Miss McClellan and Mr R. Someiville, and dancing was kept up till past daylight on the following morning.
