DUNE DIN MAEKETS

Mr Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New Zealand Lonn and Mercantile Agency Companv, Limited) report for the week ending February 20<h as follows ; Fat Cuttle.—The market to-day was glntted. SlO head were forward, all* qualities being represented. This number being in excess of requirements, resulted in several pens being: withdrawn. 1 Competition was languid, and prices obtained were about £1 per head below last week's. Bpsc bullocks brought from £8 10s to £9 12s 6d ; others. £5 2s 6d to £7 10s; and cows, from £5 to £8 10s. We sold on account of the proprietors of the Seadown Estate, 12 bullocks et £8 10a to £9 12s 61. Fat Sheep.—22B6 were penned, including 650 merinos, the balance crossbred s, the mnj:irity of which were pood to prime quality. At the commencement of the sales bidding "lacked spirit, and in some instances prices were Is to Is 6d per head under lust week's, but towards the close competition was livelier and prices firmer. Bast crossbreds, 18s 9d to 19a 3d ; otlier's, Hs 6d to 17s ; merino.*, 9--» to 12< 9d. F.it Lambs.—s 47 were pennad for the week. Prices were unaltered, the range being 8s 31 to 13s. F.it Pi^s. —76 were penned, and scld under good competition at from 15s to 68s each. Store Sheep.—Business under this head continues fair. A good demand exists still, hut as few lots are now offering, and at localities at iuconvenient d stances, sales are not so numerous. We have none to repott this week, but have some pending Sheepskits. —At our usual tuition, sale on Blr-n lay the attendance whs good, but competition lacked spirit, and, although higher prices ware obtained (or some of the lots, on the whole prices reuUsed were be'ow those obtained during the last few weeks. Dry crossbreds brought Is 2d to 2s, 2* 4d to 3s, 3s Pd to 4-;; do merinos, Is 4d to 2a 4d, 2s 8d to 3s 6d, 4s 10 4s lid . dry pelts f. tched sd, Bd, lid, Is 3d to Is 41 ; green do, Is 2d ; lambskins, la 2d. Tallow.—Supplies are thort, and all comiDj, to hand is well competed for. We quote prime at 32s to 335; medium to good, 27s 6d to 30s ; inferior and mixed, 17s 6d to 25s ; rough fat, 17s 6d to 25* 6d according to quality. Grain.—Wheat •' Prime milling is almost out of the market ; small lots, however, turn up occasionally, for which extreme prices are paid—viz., 4s 7d to 4s 8d ; but immediately present wants are satisfied we do not expect these prices will be obtained. Inferior and fowls' wheat is in fair supply, for which we quote 2s 6d to 3s 3d. Oats are coming; to hand more freely, but as local requirements are in the meantime sufficiently supplied, and but small demands for shipment, list week's prices are barelv maintained. We quote stout milling 23 2d to 2s 3d ; short bright feed, 2s to 2s M ; lorn* oats and Danish, Is lod to Is lid ; inferior, Is 8.1 to Is 9d. Barley :We have no sales to report. Kyegrass Seed.—Machine-dressed is sold at 3s lOd to 43. [The above report has been crowded out of our last two issues.]

AUSTRALIAN MARKETS.

Sydney, Feb. 22. New Zealand wheat has fallen to 3s 4d per bushel, and New Zealand oats to 2s 9d ; maize remains at 4s, and Sugar Company's No. 1 pieces £34 per ton. Adelaide, Feb. 22. Wheit is quoted to-day at 3 < lid to 4s, f.o.K, market qii'Vt ; fluiir, town brands, £9 12s 6-1 to. £9 i 5s ; country do, £8 10s to £8 12s 61.
