CHRISTCHURCH CORIS EXCHANGE. The Corn Exchange report for the week ending Friday evening, the 15th inst : The main feature of thp grain market during the past week has been an effort on the part of growers endeavoring to test values by showing samples of their crops, many very excellent parcels of grain being exhibited, and should farmers profit br the experience of last season, by stacking as soon as fit, there is no doubt that returns will be highly satisfactory. Quotations are as follows : Wheat—A few lines ot old have changed hands during the week at former rates. Of the now crop little has come forward, sellers being offered 3* 6d, f.0.b,, for lus-an. Buyers, however, are diffident in fixing opening rates. Oats—A brisk demand has been maintained for shipments coastwise. Last season's still commands full rates, while new are sought for immediate deb'very at 2s to 2s 2d, f.0.b,, for prime samples. Birley—None yet coining in. Grass Seed Bye grass : farmers' parcels, 3s to 3s 6d, at Chnstchurch ; machine dressed, up to 3s 6<l, at Christchurch. Cocks f oot : very little animation shown on th? part of buyers, who do not feel disposed to meet growers' prices. Nominal value, f.o.b. Butter—7d to 8d per lb. Cheese—New, 3£d to 4d ; old, tosd.
