AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, Feb. 12. The Melbourne Manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) reports of the grain market as follows : Wheat is rather firmer, and in active demand at 4s 3d to 4s 8d ; New Zealand oats, duty paid, 2s 8d to Bs, the market much steadier ; New Zealand oats under bond, quiet at 2s 4d to 2s Bd.
ENGLISH MARKETS,
London, Feb. 9. The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,810,000 quarters. Australian tallow is dull ; prices have declined by 6d to Is per cwt ; beef, fair average quality, 38s ; mutton, ditto, 41s 6d. Feb. 11. The wheat market is unchanged. Adelaide ex store is worth 445, and New Zealand do, 36s to 425. Adelaide flour ex store, is quoted at 31s. The wool market, is quiet. New arrivals to date for next seiies of auctions amount to 310,000 bales.
