ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

WOODBURY. The annual meeting of householders in the Woodbury district was held on Monday, 28th ult., Mr Wadlow being voted to the chair. The attendance was not large owing to the inclemency of the weather. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed.

The retiring Chairman of Committee stated that the schoolhad been progressing during the past year, the average attendance for the first quarter having been 66 ; and the last quarter of the year 76. The work had always been most harmoniously carried on between the Committee and Master. The balance-sheet sheet showed a balance of £2 11s 7d to be carried forward to next year’s account. The children’s treat fund showed, with a balance from the previous year, the receipts as £24 17s lOd and expenses £23 17s Id leaving a balance of £1 Os 9d. The Committee owe 6s 9d, paid on account of this fund, for advertising tenders.

On the motion of Mr Dean and seconded by Mr Webb, the report was adopted. The following were nominated for the new School Committee :—Messrs Wadlow, Webb, Dean, Cooling, Irvine, Cormack, Harris, McKenzie, Flatman and Hammond. A ballot having been taken, the following were, declared duly elected ; Messrs Wadlow, Dean, Cormack, McKenzie, Flatman, vYebb, and Cooling. A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting. Committee Meeting. At the first meeting of Committee, held immediately after the public meeting, Mr iJ. H. Dean waa elected Chairman.
